Making her debut at Taipei Archery Open, a prominent South Korean archer An San drew attention where she talked about her motivation, her hopes for youth development, and how she sees her own role within the team.
She revealed that curiosity was the key reason for entering this year’s event.

The Korean squad this year consists largely of young archers — a detail that raised a question about her position as a senior figure. She noted that while she lacked such opportunities when she was younger, she now hopes this event will serve as a valuable stepping stone for the next generation.

She also recalled her recent victory in Nanjing, describing it as memorable yet imperfect due to strong winds and cold temperatures. Despite taking the title, she admitted she was not fully satisfied with certain aspects of her performance.
“I won, but there were many parts I wasn’t happy with. This time, I want to focus more on performance quality and improve those details.” she explained.

Outside competition, she has gained recognition far beyond her sport, with passionate supporters across Korea, Taiwan and overseas. She said she feels both grateful and responsible for their trust.
